Development Engineer for Mechatronics with Focus on Dynamics & Control Engineering


Your Responsibilities and Duties

  • Independent mechatronic development of ultra-precise actuator and sensor systems such as closed-loop nanopositioners and laser interferometers while meeting quality, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Focus on analysis of the dynamic behavior of the systems, as well as design and development of associated control and feedback control algorithms 
  • Develop models and simulations of physical systems 
  • Conduct and evaluate laboratory experiments to verify and validate the dynamic behavior of mechatronic systems and, in particular, their control and feedback control processes  
  • Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams in a highly dynamic environment to identify and solve complex problems in dynamics and control engineering

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • A very good university degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics or a comparable qualification
  • Initial experience and expertise in the development and implementation of control algorithms for high-precision mechatronic systems
  • Strong knowledge in modeling and simulation of physical systems
  • Very good knowledge with one or more programming languages such as Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C++, etc.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment for experimental verification 
  • Enjoy interdisciplinary teamwork in a highly dynamic environment
  • Analytical and conceptual skills as well as independent and diligent approach to work 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German (at least C1) or English
